Athletic Training Staff

Kate Dornbos

Kate Dornbos has accepted the position of head athletic trainer at Northwood University. After joining the Sports Medicine Staff in 2012, she is now in her tenth year at Northwood.

Dornbos previously served as an Athletic Trainer at Western Michigan for four years after earning her Master’s Degree at WMU. She was also the head athletic trainer at Allegan High School as a graduate assistant.

From 2003-05, Dornbos worked for Registered Physical Therapists in Salt Lake City, Utah, as an assistant athletic trainer at the rehabilitation clinic.  In the afternoons, she was in charge of athletic training at Jordan High School.

Dornbos was an All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection in soccer at Hope College, where she also worked in the athletic training department. 

Dornbos currently lives in Midland with her wife Robin Jones.

John Rogers

John Rogers has been a full-time member of the Northwood University Athletic Training staff since 2006.

Rogers first started working with Northwood athletes through an outreach position at MidMichigan Medical Center. He held that position from 2002-04.

Rogers played two years of basketball at Frederick Community College (1988-1990) before earning a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education - with a concentration in athletic training - from West Chester University in 1994.

John currently resides in Midland with his wife Robin, his two children (Keeley and Addison) and his faithful four legged friend LuLu. 

Brett Devereaux

Brett Devereaux joined the Northwood University Athletic Training staff in August of 2013. Devereaux came to Northwood University after completing an Internship at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. 

Devereaux, a Jackson native, earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Albion College in 2009, and his master’s in athletic training from The University of Findlay in 2012. 

Devereaux was a four-year letter winner in baseball at Albion College.  He also played one year of football while at Albion.

Devereaux currently resides in Midland.
