Timberwolves sneak by Dragons

The Tiffin University women's soccer team dropped a close GLIAC game, 1-0, to the Northwood University Timberwolves.

Neither side managed much offense early, as the majority of the play was conducted around midfield. Towards the latter stages of the 1st half, Northwood lined up for a corner kick, and netted the lone goal of the game. The corner kick was deflected by a Dragon defender, and then pushed by a diving Samantha Ortenzi, giving Northwood a 1-0 lead.

At the intermission, Northwood held a 10-2 advantage in shots, and 3-2 lead in corner kicks.

Tiffin continued to push the ball down the field in the 2nd half, accumulating six shots. The Dragons had two shots on goal in the half, but the ball didn't bounce the Dragons' way, as they were unable to tie the score.

Samantha Ortenzi, leading the nation in saves, added seven more to her season total. Leanne Tobin was the aggressor on offense for Tiffin, firing four shots. The Dragons fall to 2-11 overall and 1-6 in GLIAC play.
