The Dragons kept the line moving on Friday afternoon, defeating Northwood University 2-1 with a late goal to pull within a half a game of third place.

The Dragons played well for the opening forty minutes, but had nothing to show for their labor. The Dragons fired 10 opening half shots, and in the 44th minute Tiffin finally broke the tie. Adrianna Currie was fouled about 20-yards from the goal, and her ensuing free kick gave Tiffin a 1-0 lead as Currie fired a shot that hummed to the back of the net. The Tiffin defense was aggressive in the 1st half, holding the Timberwolves to only three shots with one on goal.

The majority of the 2nd half was played in the midfield, but in the 79th minute the Timberwolves broke through to tie the game. With less than 10 minutes remaining, the Dragons knew they had to find their second wind offensively. In the 82nd minute, they found it as Adrianna Currie flipped a pass to Markella Suka on a fast break. Suka controlled the pass and lightly flipped a shot over the Timberwolves' keeper to give Tiffin a 2-1 lead. The Tiffin defense held down the fort for the remainder of game as Tiffin moved to 6-8-1 overall and 5-3 in the GLIAC.

Adrianna Currie finished the game with three points, scoring her 8th goal of the season and dishing out her 5th assist of the season. The goal for Markella Suka was her third this season. Ortenzi earned the win in goal, collecting three saves, giving her 487 in her career.

The Dragons are now a half game out of third place, and will look to secure a 1st round home game in the GLIAC Tournament that begins on October 31.
