Dragons roll over Timberwolves 42-14

Tiffin University (6-3, 5-3 GLIAC) enjoyed one of the strongest rushing days in school history, as four TU rushers combined for 388 yards in a big 42-14 win on the road at Northwood.

The Dragons exploded from the outset, scoring at the 10:48 mark on a 17 yard pass from Antonio Pipkin to Charles Holland to make it 7-0.

The ground game continued throughout the first half, with Pipkin, JaQuan Hardy, Kyle Brunson, and Jerry Brown racking up yards. But TU couldn't get back on the board until the 4:11 mark of the second quarter, as TU capped an 11 play, 97 yard drive with a 19 yard TD run by Hardy to make it 14-0.

The Dragons took their next possession and scored on a big play, as Pipkin found Davon Johnson on a 75 yard TD connection on TU's first play. That made the score 21-0 at the half.

Brunson was the next Dragons rusher to get in on the scoring, as he finished off an 81 yard drive with a 10 yard TD scamper at the 12:39 mark of the 3rd quarter. At the 5:02 mark, Brown scored on an electric 32 yard run to finish off an 86 yard drive to make it 35-0.

After Northwood finally got on the board after a 9 yard run, Pipkin gave TU four different rushers reaching the end zone on a 4 yard run at 11:58 of the 4th quarter to finish TU's scoring and give them a 42-7 lead.

Overall TU outgained Northwood on the ground 384-185, averaging 8 yards per rush as a team. They racked up 533 yards of offense while holding Northwood to 333 total. TU also had a 25-15 edge in first downs. Defensively the Dragons held Northwood to just 4 for 11 on third downs and held their triple option offense to just 185 yards rushing.

Pipkin had a strong overall game, rushing for 111 yards (10.1 yards per rush) with a TD while passing for 149 yards on 9 of 16 passing with no interceptions and 2 more TDs. Brunson also eclipsed 100 yards, finishing with 114 (9.5 per rush). Brown had 92 yards (10.2 per carry), while Hardy had 71 yards (5.9 per rush).

Johnson finished with 87 yards receiving and a TD, while Holland had 43 yards and a score. 

Defensively Carrington Contee had 9 tackles, while DJ Steward had 7 tackles and a tackle for loss. Willie Mays had 5 tackles and 2 tackles for loss, while Jacob Mertus had 5 tackles. Stefan Willis had an interception, while Hunter Waits had 4 tackles with a sack. Ryan Grooms also had 4 tackles.
