GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lake Erie opened the scoring on an Austin Bovenski RBI single, but Northwood quickly erased the deficit with a 3-run bottom of the first. Ryan McClelland drove home David Vinsky, who doubled with one out. Daniel Pulver added an RBI triple to make it 2-1. Grant Bridgewater brought home the third run of the frame when he put one in play that was booted by the Storm's second baseman.
  • After extending the lead to 4-1 on a McClelland single that scored Miles Hardy, who walked earlier in the second inning, Vinsky made sure to extend the lead in the fourth. With Hardy reaching on an error, the third of the day for Lake Erie, Connor Foley walked a batter later. This set the stage for Vinsky to drive in two runs with a double to make it 6-1.
  • In the top of the fifth, Lake Erie would get two runs back on another Bovenski RBI single. He would get in a pickle between first and second and allow the second run of the inning to score, cutting the lead to 6-3. The Timberwolves ended up getting one back in the bottom half, with Robert Spencer knocking in Bridgewater pushing the lead back up to four.
  • Adding insurance in the bottom of the sixth, Northwood's heart of the order continued to hum, as Pulver and Bridgewater each had RBI singles to go along with two more runs scoring on a passed ball and Lake Erie's fourth error.
  • After Maxwell Bain loaded the bases with two outs, Nathan Langenfeld allowed a three-run double to Corbin Paxton, which kept the game alive at 11-6 at the time before the game ended a batter later with a strikeout.
  • Northwood's Tyler Jandron pitched six strong innings, striking out nine and walking three while giving up three runs on seven hits. Jandron picks up his seventh win in as many starts and leads the GLIAC in wins.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Brooks Ullery added another on an RBI single to extend the lead to four as all nine men in the lineup came to the plate in the first inning.
