  • Missouri S&T found their offensive rhythm on the following series. The Miners went 79 yards in seven plays to score a touchdown, cutting the Northwood advantage to 10-7 with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter. That proved to be the score at the end of the first.
  • Northwood made it three straight scoring drives to start the game on their following series. An 11-play, 66-yard drive was capped by a Riser 26-yard field goal to make the score 13-7 with 11:40 remaining in the first half.
  • After a stop on defense and a 32-yard punt return by Dwignt Blakey, Northwood wasted no time putting seven more points on the board. Garbarino found John Hall for a 34-yard TD on the first play of the drive, putting the Timberwolves on top 20-7.

  • On their second possession of the second half, Northwood extended their lead. Garbarino scored on a two-yard TD run to end an eight-play, 23-yard drive that put the Timberwolves on top 37-14.

  • Missouri S&T did not quit, however, scoring a touchdown to make it a two-possession game at 40-27. The Miners then got the ball back with less than six minutes remaining, but the Timberwolves defense held to give the ball back to Northwood.
  • The Timberwolves then put up a big play right away, as Dominick Giovinazzo scored on a 48-yard TD run two plays into the next possession to make the lead 47-27.
  • The Miners weren't quite done at that point, as they returned the following kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to make it 47-34.
