FIRST HALF

  • Both offenses set the tone of the opening quarter in the first two minutes, as NU and NMU combined to score 13 points in 1:49 seconds to start the game.
  • Northern Michigan's offense proved be better in the opening 20 minutes, eventually opening up a 52-42 lead at the break.
  • NMU finished the half at 62.5 percent from the floor (20-32), compared to Northwood at 51.5 percent (17-33). Northern Michigan also connected on seven 3-point field goals compared to two for the Timberwolves.

SECOND HALF

  • Both teams continued to put the ball in the basketball with regularity in the second half – NMU and NU each shot over 50 percent from the floor.
  • Northwood cut the lead down to eight points early in the half, only to see Northern Michigan put together the key run to earn the win moments later.
  • The Wildcats took a nine point lead (59-50) and turned it into a 16 point lead (75-59) in less than eight minutes.
  • Northwood got no closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
  • The Timberwolves shot 51.6 percent from the floor in the half (16-31), but the Wildcats connected on 54.5 percent (12-22).That allowed NMU to out-score NU 48-37 after the break.
