Men's Basketball Drops 89-66 Contest At Wayne State
OVERVIEW – WAYNE STATE
SCORE: Wayne State 89, Northwood Timberwolves 66

RECAP: Wayne State starts fast and finishes strong in 89-66 win over Northwood Thursday night (January 26).
FIRST HALF
- The opening half featured big runs for both teams, starting with a push from Wayne State.
- The Warriors scored on their first possession of the game and eventually led 15-1 just over five minutes into the game.
- Northwood responded with a big run of their own, scoring 12 of the next 14 points to make the score 17-13.
- The Timberwolves eventually came all the way back to lead 27-25 with under five minutes to go in the half.
- WSU eventually led 37-34 at the break.
- The shooting for the two teams was very similar - Northwood shot 41.9 percent from the floor (13-31) compared to Wayne State at 40.6 percent (13-32). The Timberwolves connected on five 3-pointers in half to three for WSU, while the Warriors made five more free throws than NU (8-3).
SECOND HALF
- After a competitive start to the second half, the Warriors broke the game open.
- Northwood was down 44-40 with under 15 minutes remaining in the game when WSU's offense got rolling.
- The Warriors scored 34 points in the next eight minutes, taking it from a four point lead to a 20 point advantage at 74-54.
- WSU led by as many as 25 before winning by 23.
- Wayne State scored 52 second half points in the game, thanks to shooting 50.0 percent from the floor (20-40). Northwood shot 37.5 percent in the second half (12-32)
