Men's Soccer Picked To Finish Second In GLIAC Preseason Poll

BAY CITY, MICH. – The Northwood University men's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Tuesday (August 16).

Northwood is expected to finish second, after winning the regular season and GLIAC Championship a year ago. The Timberwolves also hosted the opening two rounds of the NCAA Tournament and reached the Round of 16 with 17-2-1 overall record.

NU finished with 54 points in the poll, including three first-place votes. Saginaw Valley State was the favorite with 61 points and Tiffin finished in third at 50 points.

Northwood will open the 2016 season with home matches against St. Joseph's on Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. and Saginaw Valley State at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 11.
