Men's Tennis Defeats Hillsdale 8-1

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches with an 8-1 win over Hillsdale Sunday (April 10).

Northwood is now 7-4 overall, 3-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Hillsdale stands at 6-8 overall, 1-5 in the GLIAC.

The Timberwolves picked up a pair of quick wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions to earn a 2-0 lead to start the match. Hillsdale claimed a tough 9-7 win at the No. 2 slot to send the match to singles with Northwood leading 2-1.

Northwood went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets to close out the victory.

On the day, Sebastian Eguez, Austin Woody, Konstantin Zhukov and Hayden Drury all went 2-0 to lead the way for Northwood.

The Timberwolves will host Ferris State in a key GLIAC match Saturday (April 16). First serve is set for 10 a.m.
