Men's Tennis Drops 5-4 Contest At Tiffin

TIFFIN, OHIO – The Northwood University men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 match at Tiffin Thursday afternoon (April 21).

Northwood is now 7-8 overall, 3-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Tiffin improves to 14-9 overall, 6-1 in the GLIAC.

The Timberwolves nearly opened up a 3-0 lead after doubles. NU earned matching 8-5 victories at the No. 2 (Daniel Haas/David Reinauer) and No. 3 positions (Konstantin Zhukov/Hayden Drury) to go up 2-0 early on. The No. 1 contest went down to the end, but Tiffin earned a 9-8 victory, which sent the match to singles with Northwood leading 2-1.

The Dragons were the better team in singles, taking four of the six matches. Northwood picked up wins at the No. 2 slot from Austin Woody and the No. 5 position from Lorenz Bialkowski.

Northwood will travel to Lake Superior State Saturday (April 23). Match time is set for 10 a.m.
