Track & Field Teams Compete At Oiler Opener

RECAP: The Northwood University track and field teams continued the 2016-17 indoor season at the Oiler Open in Findlay, Ohio on Friday and Saturday (December 9 & 10).
INSIDE THE MEET
- There was no team scoring in the meet, featuring Findlay, Northwood, Eastern Michigan, Siena Heights, Davenport, Wayne State, Toledo, Miami (Ohio) University, among others.
- On the men's side, Paul Evans finished third overall in the weight throw, registering an NCAA Provisional mark of 59-06.25.
- In the men's 60 Meter Hurdles event, Northwood's Kyle Vandersyde placed fifth overall with a time of 8.514.
- On the women's side, Elaina Meadows placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.43.
- Heaven Powell was fourth in the high jump at 5-2.50.
UP NEXT
- The Timberwolves will compete at the Bob Eubanks Open in Allendale, Mich on Friday (January 23). The event is being hosted by Grand Valley State University.
