Cross Country Teams Compete at NCAA II Midwest Regional Meet

OVERVIEW – NCAA II Midwest Regional Championships

EVENT: NCAA II Cross Country Midwest Regional Championships

LOCATION: Evansville, Indiana (Angel Mounds)

RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at Southern Indiana University on Saturday (November 5). Six runners compiled times that ranked within the top 25 in school history.

INSIDE THE MEET

  • The men's team placed 27th overall in the Midwest Region with 710 points. Grand Valley State was the overall winner with 45 points, followed by Southern Indiana with 99.
  • Northwood senior, Tyler Jensen led the way for the Timberwolves finishing 69th overall with a time of 32:21:31
  • Following behind Jensen was Will Moench for the Timberwolves, who clocked a 32:44:86 to place 88th overall.
  • 3 runners on the men's side compiled times within Northwood's top 25 best times in school history: Tyler Jensen's time of 32:21:31 ranks fifth in Northwood program history. Will Moench's 32:44:86 mark is the sixth best all-time for the Timberwolves, and Caleb Barker's time of: 34:06.58 cracked the top 25 in school history at 22.   
  • A total of 219 runners took part in the men's event.
  • The Northwood women's cross country team placed 30th overall in the NCAA Midwest Region with 818 points. Grand Valley State was the overall winner with 43 points, followed by Cedarville with  103 points
  • Northwood was led by Jennifer McKenna for the fourth straight meet. She ran a 22:55:41 to place 88th overall in the region.
  • Emily Murdoch ran a 24:25:51 for the Timberwolves, placing her 161st overall in the region.
  • 3 runners on the women's side compiled times within Northwood's top 25 best times in school history: Mckenna's time of 22:55:41 ranks seventh in Northwood program history. Murdoch's 24:25:21 mark is the 20th best all-time for the Timberwolves, and Jacqueline Reneaud's time of 25:03.56 cracked the top 25 in school history at 24th.
  • A total of 221 athletes took part in the women's race.
