Northwood Softball Wins Versus Ferris State Before Weather Takes Control

RECAP: The Timberwolves softball team was back in Midland taking on the Ferris State Bulldogs. The doubleheader was scheduled for two games (April 26) but in the bottom of the sixth inning in game one the games were called due to weather.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• The Timberwolves were able to get the scoring started in the first with two walks, a wild pitch to advance the runners and Alexis Koehler was able to score via another wild pitch, NU 1-0.
• Ferris would a home run in the third to tie it up at 1-1.
• In the third, Haley Frank would single through the right side to score Koehler, 2-1 NU.
• Following Frank's single, Brittany Steimel singled down the third baseline to score two more, 4-1 NU.
• Ferris State would try and mount a comeback in the fourth. Following a walk and throwing error advancing the runners to second and third with one out. FSU would get a groundout to score one and a single to score another, 4-3 NU.
• Shayna Frank would anchor down to strike out the final seven Ferris State batters to finish the game. Shayna currently sits 11 strikeouts shy of the 500 mark. 
• Rain began in the fifth before the game was called in the sixth and game two was canceled.
