Nurenberg Reaches 1,000 Point Mark In Women's Basketball's 67-42 Win Over Wisconsin-Parkside

RECAP: Jordyn Nurenberg reaches the 1,000 point mark for her career as the Timberwolves cruise to a 67-42 win over Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday afternoon (November 13).

FIRST QUARTER

  • Both teams came out shooting the ball well – the score was tied 8-8 less than three minutes into the game. The Timberwolves kept the hot shooting up the rest of the quarter, finishing at 66.7 percent (10-15) en route to a 22-14 lead at the end of the opening quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

  • The Timberwolves built on their lead throughout the second quarter. NU scored the first basket of the frame to get the lead above 10, where it would remain the rest of the game. Northwood led by as many as 19 before taking a 42-25 advantage to the locker room.
  • Northwood's strong half was spurned by a 60.7 percent shooting from the floor (17-28), which included 50.0 percent from behind the arc (3-6). Wisconsin-Parkside ended up shooting 35.5 percent overall (11-31) and 16.7 percent from 3-point range (2-16).

THIRD QUARTER

  • Northwood shot just 33.3 percent in the third quarter (5-15), but their defense held UWP to 3-16 shooting (18.8 percent). That allowed the Timberwolves to expand the lead to 57-32 heading to the fourth quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER

  • The Timberwolves were never challenged in the fourth, as the Rangers got no closer than 22 the rest of the way.

  • Northwood is now 2-0 for the first time since 2011-12 and for the fifth time since 2000.
