Women's Basketball Pushes Win Streak To Eight With 73-61 Victory Over Ursuline

RECAP: Northwood women's basketball moves its win streak to eight with a 73-61 victory over Ursuline Thursday night (February 29).
GAME STORY
- Northwood started the game hot, scoring the first seven and 11 of the first 13 points overall for a nine-point lead.
- The Timberwolves pushed its advantage to 12 at 21-9 before standing with a 25-15 lead after 10 minutes.
- NU matched its biggest lead at 27-15 when the Arrows began to fight back. Ursuline posted a 13-2 run to make the score 29-28 with less than five minutes remaining in the second.
- Northwood got the lead back to 10 late in the half before the score stood at 41-34 at the break.
- Much like the first half, the Timberwolves moved their lead to 12 at 50-38 early in the third, only to see Ursuline fight back.
- The score stood at 54-48 Northwood heading to the fourth.
- UC's run eventually reached 14-4 early in the final quarter, making the score 54-52 with 8:03 remaining.
- With the Northwood lead at 59-56, NU's 3-point shooting got going after a slow start to the contest.
- The Timberwolves made four straight triples in just over two minutes to push their advantage to the biggest of the night at 71-57.
- Ursuline got no closer than 11 the rest of the way.

- The Timberwolves have now won eight straight and 11 of their last 12 games.
- Northwood has now matched the program record for Division II wins in a season with 19. The 2008-09 team won 19 Division II games (21 overall).
- With the Trevecca Nazarene loss against Thomas More, Northwood will finish the regular season second or third in the final Great Midwest final standings.
