GAME STORY
- The opening quarter was evenly played – with both teams sharing the largest lead of the opening 10 minutes at three points.
- GVSU made a layup with three seconds left in the first to take a 20-19 lead after one.
- Northwood led 23-22 with 6:50 remaining in the second quarter when the Lakers made a big run to take control. Grand Valley State scored 18 of the final 21 points of the half to take a 40-26 lead at the break.
- GVSU held Northwood to just 2-14 from the floor in the second quarter (14.3 percent).
- The Lakers put up 10 of the first 13 points of the second half to open up a 50-29 lead.
- Grand Valley State maintained control the remainder of the way, leading by at least 18 the rest of the game.
- The lead grew to as many as 32 before GVSU won by 31.
