Women's Golf Places Fifth At NC4K Classic

BLACKLICK, OHIO – The Northwood University women's golf team earned a fifth place finish at the NC4K College Classic Sunday and Monday (April 4).

The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Jefferson Country Club. The course played as a 5,852 yard, par 72.

Northwood shot rounds of 329-333 to finish at 662. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 613 (299-314), followed by Findlay at 643 (323-320). The Timberwolves narrowly missed out on a top-three finish – Ashland (658) and California Pennslyvania (660) beat Northwood by four and two shots, respectively.

Northwood was led by Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England/Range), who finished in a tie for ninth overall after rounds of 85-76. Her second-round 76 was the third best score of the day. Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./ E'Cole) tied for 18th after shooting rounds of 84-81.  A total of 102 players took part in the event.

The Timberwolves will compete at the Walsh Cavalier Classic April 16-17.
