Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At Walsh Cavalier Classic

CANTON, OHIO – The Northwood University women's golf team tied for fourth place at the Cavalier Classic Sunday afternoon (April 17).

The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted by Walsh at the Glenmoor Country Club. The course played as a 6,061 yard, par 72.

Northwood shot rounds of 314 and 320 to finish at 634 overall. Grand Valley State placed first overall at 606 (308-298), followed by Findlay at 614 (310-304) and Ashland at 627 (324-303). NU ended up tied with Lewis (313-321).

The Timberwolves were led by senior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole), who earned her third top-10 finish of the season by tying for fifth overall. She shot rounds of 77 and 76 to finish at 153 overall. Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England/Range) tied for 11th at 156 (77-79), while Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) shot 78-81 to finish 17th. A total of 86 players competed at the event.

Northwood will compete at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship April 22-24 at Grand Valley State.
