Women's Golf Places Fourth At GLIAC Championship

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University women's golf team placed fourth at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Friday-Sunday (April 22-24).

The three-day, 54-hole event was held at the Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University. The course played as a 6,065 yard, par 72.

The Timberwolves shot team scores of 320-323-318 to finish at 961 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 887 (292-295-300), followed by Findlay at 922 (303-311-308) and Ashland at 930 (310-315-305). Northwood finished 20 shots ahead of fifth-place Ferris State at 981 (329-326-326). A total of 12 teams took part in the event.

Leading the way for the Timberwolves once again was Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole). The senior shot rounds of 76-76-79 to finish in ninth place. Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England) was 20th overall at 243 (82-81-80). A total of 59 players took part in the event.

Northwood will compete at the NCAA Super Regionals in Springfield, Illinois May 2-4.
