Women's Soccer Earns 2-1 Overtime Victory Over Cedarville

INSIDE THE GAME 

  • Following a rush that saw Cedarville get three quality chances through the first 30 minutes, Allison Carroll (Grand Blanc Mich./Grand Blanc) was tripped near the front of the net leading to a penalty shot for the senior. She buried the shot on the right side for her second goal in as many contests.
  • With 6:55 left to play in a tight, defensive game, Alyssa Maillefer found a seam through the middle of the Northwood defense on a stretch pass from Olivia Moore. She composed herself and scored far side to the left to tie the game at 1.
  • With 1:20 left in overtime, Northwood was granted a corner kick after two close calls in front of the net. NU made good on this chance, with Carroll picking up the rebound after a blocked Savannah King (Lapeer, Mich. / West) shot in the middle of the box and sealing the win for the Timberwolves.
