Track and Field Teams Represented At GVSU Last Chance Meet

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University track and field teams picked up a pair of fifth place finishes at the GVSU Last Chance meet.

Hunter Perry (Moran, Mich. / Rudyard) recorded a personal best and new school record with a discus throw of 47.13 meters (154-7). Her mark not only surpasses her own recently broken school record of 44.47 (145-11) by more than ten feet, but is also currently the 23rd best throw in the country. Elaina Meadows (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Schoolcraft) won the long jump with a mark of 5.81 meters.

Paul Evans (Lenox, Mich. / New Haven) also finished fifth with a throw of 51.67 meters (169-6), bettering his personal best of 50.89 meters thrown earlier this season. Evans mark currently stands at 22nd best in the country.

Selections for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships meet will take place on Tuesday (May 17). The meet will be held in Tampa, Fla. on May 26-28.
