Track and Field Teams Represented At GVSU Last Chance Meet

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University track and field teams picked up a pair of fifth place finishes at the GVSU Last Chance meet.

Hunter Perry (Moran, Mich. / Rudyard) recorded a personal best and new school record with a discus throw of 47.13 meters (154-7). Her mark not only surpasses her own recently broken school record of 44.47 (145-11) by more than ten feet, but is also currently the 23^rd best throw in the country. Elaina Meadows (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Schoolcraft) won the long jump with a mark of 5.81 meters.

Paul Evans (Lenox, Mich. / New Haven) also finished fifth with a throw of 51.67 meters (169-6), bettering his personal best of 50.89 meters thrown earlier this season. Evans mark currently stands at 22^nd best in the country.

Selections for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships meet will take place on Tuesday (May 17). The meet will be held in Tampa, Fla. on May 26-28.
