Volleyball Sweeps Lake Superior State 3-0

RECAP: Northwood goes on the road and posts a 3-0 win over Lake Superior State Saturday afternoon (September 30).

INSIDE THE MATCH

• The opening set was close until late – when LSSU led 16-15, the biggest lead for either team to that point was two. That is when Northwood made the key run – NU scored six straight points to go up 21-16. The Timberwolves went on to win 25-20, hitting .098 (10-6-41). LSSU finished the first set at .087 (13-9-46).
• The Lakers started the second set well, using a 5-0 run to go up 8-4. LSSU eventually led 18-13 before the Timberwolves began to come back. Northwood scored 10 of the next 12 points to go up 23-20 before taking the set 25-22. NU hit .111 (13-9-36) compared to LSSU at .027 (10-9-37) in the second.
• LSSU scored five of the first six points of the third, but Northwood bounced back right away. NU tied the score at 6-6 and went up for good at 10-9 on their way to a 25-17 win. Northwood had its best offensive sets of the match, hitting .224 (15-4-49). Lake Superior State ended up at .039 (9-7-51).
