Men Place Sixth, Women Finish Ninth At GLIAC Cross Country Championships

LOCATION: Westville, Ind.
RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams compete at the 2019 GLIAC Championships Saturday (October 26).
INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed ninth out of 12 teams with 257 points.
- Grand Valley State was the overall winner with 17 points, followed by Saginaw Valley (89) and Michigan Tech (92).
- A total of 116 runners competed in the race, with Allie Ludge of GVSU winning with a time of 21:23.6.
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Lainey Veenkant – 31st: 22:58.3. Personal-best. Eighth fastest 6K performance in program history.
- Madison Brooks – 48th: 23:22.7. Personal-best. 11th fastest performance in program history.
- Katherine Wozniak – 76th: 24:32.8. Personal-best. 25th fastest performance in program history
- Amanda Aquinaga – 85th: 25:04.9.
- Amanda Kalkman – 101st: 26:19.6. Personal-best.
- Olivia Haring – 105th: 26:41.8. Personal-best
INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)
- Northwood also placed sixth out of 11 teams overall with 183 points.
- GVSU took home the men's title with 44 points, followed by Michigan Tech (57) and Saginaw Valley (61).
- A total of 113 runners competed in the race. Tanner Chada of Grand Valley State placed first overall with a time of 23:55.7..
