Bio
Ron Hunter stands as the greatest wide receiver in school history, holding records for career receptions (151), yards (3,478) and touchdown receptions (34). He currently has 1,476 more receiving yards than any other player in school history. Hunter’s greatest individual game came in one of the most memorable wins in program history, finishing with 264 yards receiving and three touchdowns in a 79-49 Axe Bowl victory over Saginaw Valley. He finished his football career earning All-GLIAC honors all four years of his career, leading the Timberwolves to two GLIAC Championships (1999 and 2000) and the first NCAA Playoff appearance (2000) in program history. In his two seasons on the Northwood men’s basketball team, Hunter averaged 10.7 points per game and was a key part of the first NCAA Tournament team in program history in 1998-99. At 21-7, that team posted the best record in school history
