Henry Russell is one of the top men’s track & field athletes in Northwood University history. Russell took home the national championship during the indoor season, earning the title at the 1993 NAIA Indoor Championship in the long jump. He also earned All-America honors at the 1992 NAIA Indoor Championships as well at the 1993 NAIA Outdoor Championships. Russell still stands second in the Northwood record book in the indoor long jump (7.5 meters) and fourth in the outdoor long jump (7.44 meters). He was also a four-year member of the Northwood University football team, rushing for 583 yards and three touchdowns as a senior.
