Baseball Loses To Saint Joseph's 6-1

The Northwood University baseball team dropped a 6-1 contest to Saint Joseph's Tuesday afternoon (March 11).

Northwood falls to 4-5 overall with the loss. St. Joseph's improves to 4-7 with the win.

The key inning of the contest proved to be the bottom of the third.  The score was still 1-0 in the inning when the Pumas broke the game open with six runs. St. Joes had four hits in the inning and also had two batters hit by pitches with the bases loaded.

Alex Lewandowski (Macomb, Mich.) pitched well coming out of the bullpen, striking out four while not allowing a hit a 2 1/3 innings of work.

Northwood will play a doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth Wednesday (March 12). The first game will begin at 1:30 p.m.
