Pair Of Coaches Reach Milestone Victories

MIDLAND, MICH. – A pair of Northwood University coaches from the spring sports season recently earned milestone victories.

Head softball coach Meaggan Pettipiece claimed her 200th career win against Ferris State April 22. Baseball coach Jordan Bischel just won his 100th contest over the weekend against Tiffin.

Pettipiece reached the mark in a 14-5 victory over Ferris State. Her career record now stands at 201-199 overall. She is the second-winningest coach in Northwood softball history, trailing only Suzanne Brown (231). Her .568 career win percentage in GLIAC play is the best in Northwood history.

Bischel is in his first season at the helm of the Northwood Baseball team. He picked up his 100th win in the Timberwolves' 10-8 victory over Tiffin May 2. Bischel is now 102-66 in his three-year career as a head coach. This year, he has led NU to a 28-21 record after going 75-45 in two seasons as the head coach at Midland University.

The baseball team will travel to the GLIAC Tournament May 7-10 in Xenia, Ohio. The Timberwolves will open play Thursday (May 7) against Ohio Dominican at 5:30 p.m.
