Baseball Drops Pair At Purdue Northwest

RECAP: Baseball swept by Purdue Northwest Saturday (March 22), dropping a wild 8-7 contest in game one before falling 6-0 in the nightcap.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood took the lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Nick Palmer.
  • The Pride then took the momentum back in the bottom of the inning and kept it for the majority of the game. PNW scored two in the first, two in the second, one in the third and two in the sixth to take a 7-1 lead to the seventh.
  • Down to their final three outs, Northwood put together a big rally. NU got going on a two-run double by Keaton Sackett to make the score 7-3.
  • Miles Hardy followed with an RBI single to get NU within three runs.
  • Cole Brooks cut the lead down to one with a two-run double to make the score 7-6.
  • Kyle Ziegler then completed the comeback with another double, capping a six-run seventh inning that tied the game 7-7.
  • The Pride responded in the bottom of the inning, however, plating a two-out run to earn the walk-off win.
