GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Wayne State got on the board first in the top of the second. After a lead-off walk, hit-by-pitch, and sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third with one out, a bloop single to right field made it 1-0 Warriors going into the bottom of the inning.
• WS added to the lead in the third. With one out, a solo shot over the left center field wall instantly made it 2-0 Wayne State. One walk and a triple down the right-field line later, the lead was extended to 3-0. A sacrifice fly plated the runner from third to cap a big inning for the Warriors as they lead 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third.
• Northwood could only post two hits against Wayne State pitcher Hunter Brown, who finished a seven-inning shutout.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

• Wayne State broke the scoreless tie in the third. After walk and a single put runners at first and third with one out, an infield bunt single plated the runner from third to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
• Later in the third, the Warriors loaded the bases with one out. A sacrifice fly extended the lead to 2-0, but Jake Gross was able to limit the damage and strand two runners heading into the bottom of the inning.
• Northwood responded quickly in their ensuing at-bats. Cole Brooks walked, David Vinsky reached on an error, and Nick Palmer took a free pass to load the bases with two out. Keaton Sackett fell behind in the count 0-2, but worked a full count and eventually walked to earn an RBI and cut the deficit to 2-1 after three innings.
• The Warriors took their turn to counter and did with a bang in the fourth. A lead-off solo home run over the left-field fence extended the lead to 3-1. Off the home run, back-to-back singles put runners on first and third. A passed ball, sharp single down the line, and fielder's choice added three more runs. By the end of the frame, Wayne State had a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth.
• The Timberwolves responded in the fifth amidst some controversy. To lead off the inning, Nick Palmer smacked a line drive down the left-field line that cleared the fence. It was initially ruled foul, but after an umpire review, Palmer was given the home run and NU was within four at 6-2 heading into the sixth.
• The Warriors added insurance runs in the seventh. After a lead-off triple, an ensuing RBI single pushed the lead back to five runs, which proved to be more than enough as the Timberwolves dropped the second game of the doubleheader.
