GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when GVSU scored all of their runs on the day. The Lakers plated four runs on four hits in the inning to take the lead.
  • Northwood got on the board in the following half inning. Cole Brooks plated NU's first run on a double.
  • Nick Palmer made it a 4-2 game on an RBI fielder's choice.
  • NU was able to get one runner on base in the seventh but were unable to tie the game.
  • Outside of their four-run fourth inning, GVSU managed just one hit in the other six innings of the game.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood scored the first run of the game in the top of the second inning on a double steal that plated Travis Janes.
  • In the third, NU made it 2-0 on a single by Palmer and an error that allowed David Vinsky.
  • Northwood extended their lead to 3-0 in the fourth thanks to an RBI single by Michael Karam.
  • The Timberwolves rounded out the scoring on a run-scoring single by Palmer.
  • Northwood starter Jake Gross was outstanding on the hill for the Timberwolves, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out five in a complete game shutuout.
