RECAP: Northwood baseball splits a doubleheader at Trevecca Nazarene Saturday afternoon (February 15), with NU winning game one 13-11 before Trevecca took game two 12-5.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood got off to a fast start in the first inning thanks to a three-run homer by Matt Mango.
• The Trojans made it 3-2 after one inning after plating a pair.
• NU got the lead back to two after an RBI groundout by Cole Brooks in the top of the second.
• Northwood made it 5-2 in the third in an RBI single by Austin Montez-Burt.
• The Timberwolves put three more on the board in the fourth, starting with a Khale Showers RBI single
• The last two runs of the inning came on a fielder's choice by Travis Janes, which also featured an error that allowed a second run to score. That made the score 8-2.
• Trevecca got one back in the fourth, but the Timberwolves responded with a Showers RBI double that put the score at 9-3.
• Trevor Polewka got Northwood to 10 runs on a sac fly in the top of the seventh.
• Mango continued his big day with his second three-run homer of the day in the top of the eighth to make the lead 10 at 13-13.
• The Trojans did not give up, however, putting together matching four-run innings in the eighth and the ninth to get within two before Northwood closed out the win.

• Northwood got one back in the fifth on a Magno RBI single that made the score 8-4.
• The Trojans responded once again with two in the fifth and one in the sixth to get their advantage to 11-4.
• Northwood's final run of the game came in the seventh on a Brooks sac fly to make the score 11-5.
