Baseball Falls At Lindenwood 13-5

RECAP: Northwood baseball sees Lindenwood break open a close game late in a 13-5 Lions victory Friday afternoon (February 21).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood got off to a fast start in the first inning, putting three runs on the board. The rally got going on a two-run double by Khale Showers that plated Cole Brooks and Kyle Ziegler.
• Alex Strickland made it 3-0 on an RBI single later in the first.
• The Lions responded to the big inning with one of their own in the bottom of the first, scoring four runs to make the score 4-3 after one inning.
• After the big start for both teams, the scoring slowed down over the next few innings. Northwood did tie the game in the on a Lidenwood error in the third inning.
• Lindenwood scored single runs in the fifth and the sixth to take the lead back at 6-4.
• The Timberwolves got back within one after scoring on an error in the top of the seventh.
• The key part of the game came in the bottom of the seventh and the eighth, as the Lions scored two in the seventh and five in the eighth to break the game open.
• Northwood scored just one run in the final six innings of the game, giving Lindenwood the victory.
