Baseball Finishes 4-0 Weekend At Parkside With Pair Of Wins

RECAP: Baseball finished off a weekend sweep over Parkside Sunday (May 1), picking up an 11-2 victory in game one before winning game two 17-5.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)
- Northwood set the tone for the day with the leadoff batter, as Jacob Rybicki connected on a home run to left field to make the score 1-0.
- Later in the first, Myles Beale made it 3-0 with a two-run homer to center.
- Rybicki extended the lead in the top of the second with an RBI single.
- Joey Johnston then made it 6-0 in the top of the second with a two run single.
- Parkside got on the board with a run in the bottom of the second to make the score 6-1.
- Northwood extended their advantage to 8-1 in the fourth thanks to an RBI single by Johnston and a sacrifice fly by Rhett Evans.
- After the Rangers made it 8-2 in the fifth, Northwood rounded out the scoring in the seventh with three runs. David Jeffers had an RBI single which was followed by a Johnston two-run triple to make the final 11-2

- For the second straight game today, Rybicki led off a contest with a solo home run to put the Timberwolves on top 1-0.
- Khale Showers added on later in the inning with a two-run homer down the left field line that made the score 3-0 after one inning.
- Showers connected on another home run in the third. His solo shot made the score 4-0.
- Later in the third, NU scored a pair of runs on an error that pushed the lead to 6-0.
- Jeffers then made it 7-0 in the fourth with an RBI single.
- Matt Magno claimed an RBI single of his own in the fourth to make the lead eight runs.
- The Rangers got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with a run that got them back within seven.
- Johnston brought home a pair in the top of the fifth with a double to get the Timberwolves to 10 runs for the game.
- Evans pushed the advantage to 11-1 with an RBI single.
- Parkside had their best inning of the day in the bottom of the fifth, plating four runs to make the score 11-5.
- Evans continued his big game for Northwood in the top of the seventh, connecting on a two-run homer to make the lead eight runs once again at 13-5.
- Later in the seventh, Jeffers added an RBI thanks to getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
- Rybicki then picked up an RBI on an error that made the score 15-5.
- Johnston finished off the scoring in the seventh with a bases-loaded walk to get the NU lead to 16-5.
- A Maalik Houston sacrifice fly in the ninth inning for Northwood rounded out the scoring, making the final 17-5.
