Derek Clark Named Second Team All-Midwest Region By D2CCA
MIDLAND, MICH. – Derek Clark, a sophomore pitcher on the Northwood University baseball team, has been named Second Team All-Midwest Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
The teams were selected by the Sports Information Directors from around the region.
Clark turned in his second straight big season for Northwood on the mound, finishing the regular season with a 6-2 record and a 3.49 ERA. Clark ended the year with six complete games, which is three more than anyone else in the conference and ranks him 11th in Division II. He also ranks fourth in the conference in wins and fifth in ERA. In two seasons at Northwood, Clark is now 13-5 with a 3.66 ERA.
Northwood earned its fifth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament this season, qualifying for the Midwest Regional as the No. 5 seed. The Timberwolves will face No. 4 Quincy in the opening round Thursday (May 19) at Noon.
