Baseball Ranked Sixth In NCBWA Preseason Poll - Jayden Dentler Named To Preseason All-Region Team
2023 NCBWA PRESEASON ALL-REGION TEAM
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team is ranked sixth in the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Midwest Preseason Poll.
Northwood finished with 41 points and was the highest ranked team from the Great Midwest Athletic Confernce. Illinois-Springfield is ranked first, finishing with 77 points and seven first-place votes. Quincy was second with 68 points and one first place vote.
In addition, the NCBWA released their Preseason All-Region teams. Sophomore starting pitcher Jayden Dentler represented Northwood on the list. The GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year in 2022, Dentler went 7-2 with a 2.87 ERA in 94.0 innings for the Timberwolves last season.
The Timberwolves are coming off a 31-23-1 season in 2022. Northwood reached the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight time. NU will open their 2023 season February 17 with a five-game series at Hawaii Pacific.
