RECAP: Northwood baseball rallies back from a 7-1 sixth-inning deficit to earn a 9-8 win over Wayne State Saturday night (March 9).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Wayne State started the scoring with a two-run double and an RBI single in the first inning to go up 3-0 in the first.
• The Timberwolves got on the board in the bottom of the second on an RBI groundout from Alex Cole to make the score 3-1.
• The Warriors scored one in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the sixth to go up 7-1.
• Northwood began its comeback in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single from Myles Beale.
• Blake Salamon came through with one of the biggest hits of the game, a three-run homer to left that made the score 7-5.
• Beale then tied the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run double
• The Timberwolves took their first lead of the game later in the inning on an RBI single from Cole.
• Northwood capped the four-run inning with a squeeze bunt from Evan Wiegand that pushed their advantage to 9-7.
• The Warriors got one back in the ninth before the Timberwolves closed out the victory.
