Jake Carroll Named G-MAC Pitcher of the Week

MIDLAND, MICH. – Senior relief pitcher Jake Carroll has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Pitcher of the Week Monday (April 1).

Carroll went 1-0 in two relief appearances for Northwood in their 3-1 weekend at Findlay. He tossed 5 1/3 innings of work, allowing just one hit while striking out 10. In Northwood's 12-5 win in game two of the series, he threw the final 2 1/3 innings of the game, with six of the seven outs he recorded coming via strikeout. Carroll then earned the win in a 3-2 victory to close out the series, allowing no hits while striking out four in three innings of work. In his six appearances in G-MAC play this year, Carroll has two wins and a save while posting a 0.00 ERA in 11 2/3 innings. He has struck out 20 while allowing six hits in conference play.

Northwood will host Ashland Friday (April 5). The nine-inning game will get under way at 4 p.m.
