RECAP: Northwood baseball falls to Ashland 15-3 to wrap up their four-game series Sunday (April 7).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Eagles took control of the game in the first inning, using four hits and a pair of walks to take a 4-0 lead.
- Northwood responded in the bottom of the inning with back-to-back RBI walks from Alex Cole and Joey Johnston to make the score 4-2.
- Ashland plated two unearned runs to extend their lead to 6-2 in the top of the fourth.
- An RBI single in the seventh extended the Ashland lead to 7-2.
- The Eagles exploded for eight runs in the eighth inning, which including a grand slam. AU took advantage of three walks, an error and a ball lost in the sun in the inning to make the score 15-2.
- Evan Wiegand scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the eighth to give NU their first run since the bottom of the first inning, making the final score 15-3.
