GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• The story of the early part of the game was the two starting pitchers, as Northwood's Trevor Crawford and Hillsdale's Brandon Scott exchanged zeros through seven innings.
• Heading to the eighth inning, the game had just three hits – all singles. Crawford allowed one hit while Scott gave up two.
• The Chargers, who nearly took the lead on a double that was overturned into a foul ball, put the first run of the game on the board with two outs in the eight to go up 1-0.
• Northwood responded right away, loading the bases in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs, Ben Narr scored on a wild pitch to tie the score.
• Northwood had second and third in the bottom of the ninth but were unable to score, sending the game to extra innings.
• NU had another great chance to end the game in the bottom of the 11th, putting the first two batters on of the inning. But the Chargers held, keeping the score 1-1.
• The Timberwolves came through in the 12th to earn the dramatic victory. After a leadoff single by Brendan Hammer, Northwood loaded the bases after a pair of walks. Drew Charters dropped a single into right field, giving the Timberwolves the victory to remain unbeaten in the event.
