Baseball Takes Super Regional Opener 10-3 Over Indianapolis

RECAP: Northwood baseball takes game one of the best-of-three super regional with a 10-3 win at Indianapolis Thursday (May 22).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood set the tone for the game in the top of the second inning, thanks to Myles Beale. The Great Midwest Co-Player of the Year connection on a three-run home run to put the Timberwolves on top 3-0.
- UIndy responded with a solo shot in the bottom of the second to make the score 3-1.
- Northwood added to their advantage in the fourth, starting with a Caden Duryea sacrifice fly that brought home Ben DeVries.
- Drew Charters followed with a key hit, a two-run triple to right field that brought home two more that made the score 6-1.
- The Greyhounds responded with their second solo home run of the game to get within four at 6-2.
- Northwood got that run right back in the top of the fifth on an RBI double by Ben Narr.
- NU added to their lead in the top of the seventh thanks to an RBI single from Logan Vth that pushed the advantage to 8-2.
- UI got one in the seventh to get within five at 8-3.
- Northwood added single runs in the eighth and the ninth on a Josh Getz RBI double and a Logan Voth RBI bunt single to close out the scoring.
