Ryan Longstreth joined the Northwood University baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2019. Longstreth serves as the assistant pitching coach.

In two seasons at Northwood, NU has gone 34-27 overall. The Timberwolves reached the NCAA Regionals in his only full season on the coaching staff.

Prior to Northwood, Longstreth spent three years working as an assistant coach at Beaverton High School and the Gladwin Post 171 American Legion summer team.

As a player, Longstreth was drafted in the 2012 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He spent three plus years at various levels of the Tigers minor league system, finishing with a career 3.46 ERA in 125 professional innings pitched. Longstreth was a 2012 Florida State League All-Star selection with the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

Prior to playing professionally, Longstreth attended Saginaw Valley State and Kellogg Community College before moving onto Central Michigan. At Kellogg in 2010, Longstreth was an All-MCCAA selection and helped lead the Bruins to a MCCAA championship with a 5-2 record and 3.88 ERA. After completing his Associate’s degree at Kellogg, he moved on to Central Michigan. His two-year career at CMU was highlighted by his senior season in 2012 where he was second on the team in appearances (23) and finished with a 3-3 record and 3.93 ERA.

Longstreth is a 2008 graduate of Beaverton High School where he was a two-time 1st-Team All-State selection and two-time Midland Daily News player of the year. He helped lead Beaverton to two state finals appearances in 2007 and 2008. Also, Longstreth was a member of the 2008 and 2009 Midland Berryhill teams that both advanced to the American Legion World Series, with the 2009 team winning the National Championship.

Longstreth graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership. He and his wife, Rhead, and their two kids, Kate and Parker, currently reside in Beaverton.
