Spencer Remtema Named GLIAC Defensive Player Of The Week

Senior linebacker Spencer Remtema (Rockford, Mich.) was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a Northwood victory over Ferris State Saturday afternoon (November 3).

Remtema finished the game with 15 tackles (nine solo), three tackles for loss, a sack and a blocked extra point.  He had a tackle for loss on a fourth and one for the Bulldogs to end a FSU drive in the second quarter.  Remtema then had a tackle for loss followed by a sack early in the fourth quarter that turned first and 10 from the FS 42 into third and 17 from the FS 35.  Over his last four games, Remtema has 51 tackles (12.8 per game) and has at least eight tackles in six straight games.

Northwood will finish the season Saturday (November 10) with a home game against Hillsdale.  Kickoff is scheduled for Noon.
