Football Places Six On All-GLIAC Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University football team placed six player on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams, the league announced Tuesday (November 17).

Junior linebacker Michael Fisher (Rochester, Mich./Adams) and senior offensive lineman Brad Oxnevad (Oak Park, Ill./River Forest) we named to the Second Team All-GLIAC. NU also placed four players on the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention team: senior linebacker Mike Keith (Roseville, Mich./Warrend De La Salle), sophomore running back Vashon Nutt (Chicago, Ill./Homewood-Flossmor), sophomore defensive end Charles Williams (Plantation, Fla.) and junior wide receiver Theron Wilson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Skyline).

Fisher finished his junior season leading the GLIAC for the second straight season in tackles, totaling 113 (10.3 per game). Oxnevad has been a key player up front for his entire Northwood career, serving as a four-year starter along the offensive line. Keith finished third in the GLIAC in tackles this season (101) and finished his career with 301 tackles. Nutt led the GLIAC in kick return average (28.2) and finished the year with 689 all-purpose yards. Williams led Northwood in sacks (seven) and tackles for loss (13.5) while ranking in the top six in the GLIAC in both categories). Wilson led Northwood in every receiving statistics this season, including receptions (34), yards (595) and touchdowns (three).

Northwood tied for sixth overall in the GLIAC with a 5-6 overall record (5-5 GLIAC) this season.
