2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – Michael Fisher, a senior linebacker on the Northwood University football team, has been named First Team Academic All-District IV by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Sports Information Directors from around the country nominate and vote on the award.

Fisher is closing in on leading the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in tackles for the third straight season. He currently has 93 stops in nine games, good for an average of 10.3 per game. He is the only player in the conference who averages more than 10 tackles per game. Fisher, who earned Second Team Academic All-American honors in 2014, recently became the all-time leading tackler in school history. He now has 408 tackles for his career, moving him past former NU standout Charleston Hughes (372). Fisher currently ranks fourth among active players in all of division II in career tackles.

By earning All-District honors, Fisher now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third team honorees will be selected later this month.

Northwood will play at Findlay Saturday (November 5) at Noon.
