INSIDE THE GAME
- A 61-yard rush down the middle by Larry Martin set Ashland up in Northwood territory on their opening drive. The Eagles found the endzone four plays later to take the 7-0 lead with 12:28 remaining in the first quarter.
- The Timberwolf offense traveled 59 yards in 11 plays on their opening drive to reach the Ashland 15-yard line. Max Gonos connected on a 32-yard field goal attempt to put Northwood on the board, putting the score at 7-3 at the 8:14 mark.
- The Ashland offense reached the Northwood eight-yard line with just over a minute to go in the first quarter. The Eagles' 25-yard field goal attempt was missed wide to the right, keeping the score at 7-3.
- The Eagles extended their lead with just under eight minutes remaining in the first half. Martin found the endzone once again to extend the Ashland lead to 14-3 after a seven-play, 59-yard drive.
- The Timberwolf defense forced Ashland to a 4th and 14 late in the second quarter, but Ashland was able to convert on a 20-yard completion. The Eagles would then score on the following play to take the 21-3 lead going into the halftime break.
- The first points of the second half came when Jaden Cook found Dezmin Lyburtus in the endzone with 4:54 to go in the third. The three-yard touchdown pushed the Ashland advantage to 28-3.
- To start the fourth quarter, Ashland added seven more with a 5-yard connection from Cook to Lyburtus to cap off an eight-play, 65-yard drive that put the Eagles up 35-3.
- After the field goal on their opening drive, the Timberwolves were unable to put any further points on the board for the remainder of the contest.
