INSIDE THE GAME

  • After getting a stop on defense, the Northwood offense came out fast. The Timberwolves drove 60 yards on seven plays, capped by an Andy Durand two-yard run to put NU on top 7-0.
  • Early in the second quarter, Northwood faced a fourth and two on the Panthers 47 yard line. NU executed a perfect fake punt, as linebacker Jack Kalakay took the direct snap and went 47-yards for a touchdown to make the score 14-0.
  • Kentucky Wesleyan responded on the next drive, going 66-yards in six plays to find the endzone and cut the NU lead to 14-7. The score remained at 14-7 through halftime.
  • Northwood started the second half with a Brandon Martin 50-yard kick return to set the Timberwolves up at midfield. • The Timberwolves capped their big game on special teams with another play by Martin. Following the KWC touchdown, he took the following kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to get Northwood's lead by to two touchdowns at 28-13.
