Brock Cook Named G-MAC Defensive Athlete of the Week
MIDLAND, MICH. – Senior defensive end Brock Cook from the Northwood University football team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Cook is the second Northwood football player to earn Athlete of the Week honors in the first two weeks season, as quarterback Jacob Barlage took home the Offensive Athlete of the Week award September 9.
Cook had nine tackles, a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry in Northwood's 10-7 win over rival Saginaw Valley in the 49th annual Axe Bowl. Northwood held SVSU off the board over the final 52:21 of the game.
The Timberwolves have now earned eight G-MAC Athletes of the Week over the last two seasons.
Northwood is 2-0 on the season. They will travel to Tiffin Saturday (September 21). Game time is set for 4 p.m.
