Zac Anderson (5-8, PG, Freeland, Mich.)

Averaged 11.9 points, 6.3 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game for Freeland … team won 20 games … Falcons earned Tri-Valley League and District Championship.

Coach Rekeweg on Anderson:

"Zac Anderson is one of the smartest and toughest kids I have watched play in a while.  He was the leader on his Freeland team that had a great season.  Zac is a very good ball handler and perimeter shooter that also knows how to get his teammates involved.  He will add depth to the point guard position."

Dusan Antic (6-3, PG, Mladenovac, Serbia/Technical High School)

Played with Partizan, one of the best national programs in Serbia … starting point guard on championship teams in 2014 and 2016 … averaged 12 points, three assists, three rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the floor, 41 percent from three-point range and 79 percent from the foul line.

Coach Rekeweg on Antic:

"Dusan will add size and depth to our guard position.  His strengths are his passing as he is very good in the open court and loves to play off the ball screen.  He is used to playing with high level players in Serbia and should be able to make the adjustment from club level playing to college basketball well."

Kelvin Calhoun II (6-7, C, Cleveland, Ohio/St. Edwards)

Averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game for St. Edwards … shot 63 percent from the floor … earned Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio two years in a row.

Coach Rekeweg on Calhoun:

"Kelvin comes from one of the most revered high school programs in the state of Ohio and was an integral part of their success.  He is a big body and has really good feet and hands.  The sky is the limit on how good he really can be.  He has a great attitude and will add to our chemistry as soon as he steps on campus.  There is not many players that have been a part of more wins than Big Cal."

Hank Johnson (6-5, F, Shelbyville, Ind./Waldron)

Averaged 15.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 at Waldron High School … ranked fourth in Shelby County in scoring and sixth in rebounding … named Second Team All-Shelby County.

Coach Rekeweg on Johnson:

"Hank is a young man that has barely scratched the surface on his development.  He is still growing and I believe he has a very high ceiling with his best days ahead of him.  Hank is very passionate about basketball and improving his game.  Hank will be competing for one of our wing positions."

Demitri Martin (6-3, G, Big Rapids, Mich.)

Averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals per game for Big Rapids … 3X CSAA Player of the Year … two-time Big Rapids Pioneer Player of the Year … two-time BCAM All-State honoree … four-year starter ... tree-time team Most Valuable Player award winner

Coach Rekeweg on Martin:

"Demetri is an exceptionally gifted young man that has a college-ready body right now.  He did it all on his high school team at Big Rapids.  Not only was he impressive statistically but he was a leader on a team that went 17-4 and was undefeated in league play.  He will instantly add to our depth and competitiveness of our team.  A big guard that can score, pass, and rebound."

Trey McBride (6-2, G, Cincinnati, Ohio/Mt. Vernon Nazarene)

Transferring to Northwood from Mount Vernon Nazarene University … averaged 12.4 points per game for the Cougars … shot 45 percent from the floor and 36 percent from 3-point range … scored a career-high 24 points … played high school basketball at Moeller High School with current Northwood player Nate Georgeton

Coach Rekeweg on McBride:

"Trey is coming to us with a year of college experience.  He is a defensive specialist that takes a lot of pride in guarding the opponent's best player.  He is one of the most athletic guards we have had at Northwood.  Trey will compete for minutes at the off-guard position and will add to the competitiveness of our practices."

Marcus Pittman (6-4, G/F, Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves)

Averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game at Groves High School … earned All-OAA honors two years in a row … part of league championship team in 2017 … team also won District title in 2016.

Coach Rekeweg on Pittman:

"At 6-4 Marcus is able to do a lot of things on the court.  He has won a district and League championship in high school as well being a two year all OAA league player.  He is used to winning and I am confident that he will work hard to develop into a solid college player."

Bruno Solomun (6-9, F, Zagreb, Croatia/Miami Univ.)

Transferring to Northwood from Miami University … appeared in 13 games for the RedHawks, averaging 2.5 points … went to high school in Lewisville, North Carolina at Forsyth Country Day … averaged 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists in high school … played in Euroleague tournaments in Rome and Belgrade in 2014 and 2015.

Coach Rekeweg on Solomun:

"Bruno is another transfer that will add much needed college experience and size to our lineup.  He is a face-up 6-9 Power forward that runs the floor very well.  He had several Division I offers before committing to Miami for his freshman year.  He will be a solid outside-in player that adds depth and strength to our roster.  Because he is able to stretch the defense beyond the three point arc, it will open things up for our guards to work in the lane on penetration.  Bruno will be expected to compete for one of our starting spots from day one."
