Men's Basketball Adds Five Student-Athletes For 2019-20 Season

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's basketball team has added five players for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Evan Lowden, Matt Nowicki, Elias Ramirez, Maurion Scott and De'Airrus Ware are all currently enrolled at Northwood.

JR/G/6-2/202/Avon, Ind. (Avon HS/Danville CC)

* Averaged 12.1 points per game at Danville CC, earning All-Region honors

* Named All-State at Avon High School

* Won MVP in North vs. South Game

 

#21 MATT NOWICKI

FR/F/6-8/232/Clarkston, Mich. (St. Mary's)

* Team captain at St. Mary's High School

* Named Defensive Player of the Year

* Ranked #51 player in the state of Michigan by Prep Hoops

 

#3 ELIAS RAMIREZ

FR/G/6-2/173/Bay City, Mich. (Central)

* First Team All-Saginaw Valley League at Bay City Central

* Second leading scorer in BCC history (1,152 points) behind Eric Devendorf

* Holds school records in free throw percentage and assists

 

#4 MAURION SCOTT

FR/F/6-5/185/Chicago, Ill. (Homewood-Flossmoor)

* Two-time conference champion at Homewood-Flossmoor

* Part of two regional championships

* Named All-Conference twice in his career

 

#22 DE'AIRRUS WARE

FR/F/6-4/175/Muskegon, Mich. (Muskegon)

* First Team All-Conference at Musekgon High School

* Had offers from seven schools

 

Northwood will open its 2019-20 season with an exhibition game against Saint Francis October 25.
